Yesterday I went with my son to the "Recyclinghof" (recycling facility of our city) to bring some stuff which we wouldn't dispose in the home waste because is too bulky, can't be disposed in the home garbage or the like. I explained my son about the importance of separate the garbage, re-use to avoid waste and know what is in each thing we dispose (e.g. batteries, which need to be disposed separately).

While I was shopping at Sephora, I decided to try a new skin care product from a brand called Origins that actively works to become more sustainable and eco friendly. I did a bit of research after I got home and found out that they have planted millions of trees, use fair labor, use ecofriendly ingredients/materials, actively continue to reduce their carbon footprint, and they work to reduce their packaging waste and to make it more reusable/recyclable. I did find out that they are not vegan. Even though they don't test on animals for American consumers, they still are required to test on animals because they sell to countries like China who require animal testing.

This week I did not have a shower each day. I consumed less hot water by showering quickly. We kept the bedroom cold too.

Today I removed 3 small bags of trash from in and around the Han river in Seoul. The trash would have probably ended up in the waterway and into the ocean. This felt particularly special to me because of the importance of the Han river to the Korean people. There was quite a bit of trash even as I left, but I felt accomplished and proud having done this small action.

My husband, kids and I cleaned up a favorite trail and beach area. It was drizzling but warm, and I’m so glad my kids participated with enthusiasm too. It felt so good removing trash from this beautiful natural place

I try to switch my smartphone to energy saving mode during the day. So I don't have to recharge my phone every day, and I use less electricity. It is also a good way to spend more time offline.

Initiating a neighborhood clean-up, I begin gathering any litter I come across, even though my community generally exhibits conscientious behavior when it comes to disposing of waste properly.
