For many years, we paid a little extra to have our dirty local electricity generation offset with electricity from wind farms. Lately, we purchase 100% renewable electricity locally. I am glad that we don't have gas, since extraction and production of "natural" gas uses lots of energy, and the supply chain leaks methane into the atmosphere - a strong greenhouse gas.

When we bought our townhouse in 2013, I was initially concerned that there is no gas in the complex, but then I thought to myself, that we need to decarbonize anyway, so we are all electric.

We had our hot water pipes insulated during renovation, but it still takes a moment to get hot water in the shower. Instead of wasting the water, I collect it and use it for our patio garden.

I compost scraped food in planters on my apartment veranda. Recently, I got some volunteer plants!
