To keep peace with my husband, I try to avoid arguments. Arguments often leads to 'collision' and escalates unpleasantness. Instead I try to bring it up later when everyone can calmly discuss the problem. However I don't always succeed.

Every morning when I wake up I start my day with thoughts of metta (good will) for myself and all the sentient beings. This helps me to start my day in a positive way.

I start my meditation wishing goodwill to myself, family, and friends, and spread out my goodwill wishes to include the world. I feel more at ease and peaceful.

I started saying things in a nicer & calmer tone even when I’m angry. It prevents the other person to become angry unnecessarily.

I stopped myself saying hurtful words to my boyfriend when I had an argument with him. We ended up reaching to resolution together very quickly.

Since I was on a canoeing tour, there was not too much I could do. For one night, it was hard to find a place to camp, because it was pretty much all private property ("private" signs everywhere...). It made me a little angry, how much of the direct access of the lake is "owned" by a handful of people. We discussed about ownership of property in general, which was interesting. I think living in peace means to enable people access to nature and recreation spaces.
